Technical Guide • Updated March 2026
Jandy iAqualink 3 Schedule Programming

Quick Summary

  • Always verify the date and time are correct before programming schedules. Incorrect time is the most common cause of schedules running at wrong times.
  • Equipment schedules are set via MENU > SCHEDULE. Each circuit can have multiple on/off times for specific days or day groups.
  • OneTouch scenes activate multiple devices and temperature settings with a single button press. Configure them under SYSTEM SETUP > ONETOUCH SETUP.
  • Program Groups (A and B) let you store separate schedule sets for summer vs. winter. Groups can auto-switch by date.
  • The Seasonal Adjust (ESP Link) feature automatically extends or shortens filtration times based on the month.

Setting the Date and Time

This is the single most important step before programming anything. If the date and time are wrong, every scheduled program will run at the wrong time.

  1. Go to MENU > SET DATE/TIME.
  2. Click the DATE field and use the numeric keypad to enter the date in Month/Day/Year format. Click ENTER.
  3. Click the TIME field and enter the current time. Toggle the AM/PM button to select the correct period. Click ENTER.
  4. Verify DST (Daylight Savings Time) is enabled or disabled as appropriate: MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > DST. The factory default is ENABLED.

After power loss or clear memory

If the power center loses power or you perform a Clear Memory operation, the date and time may reset. Always re-verify date/time after any power interruption.

Programming Equipment Schedules

Adding a device to the schedule

  1. Go to MENU > SCHEDULE.
  2. Click ADD to display the list of available devices (Filter Pump, VSP Pump, Spa, Pool Heat, Spa Heat, Chiller, Aux 1, Aux 2, etc.).
  3. Select the device you want to schedule and click SELECT. Only one device can be added at a time.
  4. The device will appear in the circuit list, highlighted and ready for programming.

Setting on/off times and run days

  1. On the SCHEDULE screen, click the device in the circuit list, then click EDIT.
  2. In the RUN DAYS box, select the days you want the schedule to run: All, specific days (M, Tu, W, Th, F, Sa, Su), Weekdays, or Weekends.
  3. Click START TIME and use the numeric keypad to enter the on time. Toggle AM/PM. Click ENTER.
  4. Click STOP TIME and enter the off time. Click ENTER.
  5. Click SAVE to store the schedule.

Each device can have multiple on/off entries. For example, you can schedule the spa for 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Monday and Wednesday.

Deleting a schedule

  1. On the SCHEDULE screen, click the device entry you want to remove.
  2. Click DELETE.
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

OneTouch Scenes

OneTouch allows you to activate multiple devices and set temperatures with a single button press. The iAqualink supports six OneTouch buttons. Three are pre-configured (ALL OFF, SPA MODE, CLEAN MODE) and three are customizable (ONETOUCH 4, 5, 6).

Pre-configured OneTouch modes

  • ALL OFF: Turns off all equipment that has been turned on manually (unless being used by the Maintain Temp function).
  • SPA MODE: Activates the spa and associated equipment (heater, jets, lights) with preset temperatures.
  • CLEAN MODE: Turns on the filter pump only. If DIP switch S1-1 is ON, it also activates the cleaner pump after a 3-minute delay.

Configuring a custom OneTouch scene

  1. Go to MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > ONETOUCH SETUP.
  2. Click SET DEVICES and select a OneTouch button (e.g., ONETOUCH 4).
  3. Toggle each device ON or OFF in the list. For Pool Heat or Spa Heat, you can set a specific temperature.
  4. To name the scene, click SELECT NAME and choose from the preset list (Day Party, Night Party, Spa Mode, Pool Mode, All Off) or create a custom label.
  5. Repeat for other OneTouch buttons as needed.

Each OneTouch scene can include an independent thermostat setting and can also be assigned to SpaLink remote buttons.

Program Groups (Summer/Winter Schedules)

Program Groups let you store two complete sets of schedules (Group A and Group B) and switch between them. This is ideal for seasonal changes where you want different filtration times, heating schedules, and equipment run times for summer vs. winter.

Switching between groups

  1. Go to MENU > PROGRAM GROUP.
  2. Click GROUP A or GROUP B to manually switch. Group A is the default.
  3. Confirm you are in the correct program group before programming equipment.

Auto-switching by date

  1. On the PROGRAM GROUP screen, enter a start date for each group.
  2. For example, set Group A to start on 04/01 (April) for summer schedules and Group B to start on 10/01 (October) for winter schedules.
  3. The system will automatically switch between groups on the specified dates.
  4. To disable auto-switching, select AUTO SWITCH DISABLE.

Seasonal Adjust (ESP Link)

The Seasonal Adjust feature automatically adjusts filtration times, chlorine production, cleaner run times, and sprinkler durations based on the season. As summer approaches, filtration time increases. As winter approaches, it decreases.

Go to MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > ESP LINK > SEASONAL ADJ to configure:

  • Filtration: Default adjustment of 1 hour per seasonal change. Range: 0.5 to 2 hours.
  • Cleaner: Default 1 hour adjustment. Range: 0.5 to 2 hours.
  • AquaPure: Default 15% adjustment. Range: 10% to 20%.
  • Sprinklers: Default 5 minutes. Range: 1 to 10 minutes.
  • Fill Line: Default 5 minutes (not adjustable).

Device Runtime

The Device Runtime feature sets how long a device runs when turned on manually from the Other Devices On/Off screen. This is useful for spa sessions, one-time cleaning runs, and temporary equipment activation.

  • Go to MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > DEVICE RUNTIME.
  • Select a device (Spa, Aux 1-31, Extra Aux, or OneTouch 1-6).
  • Set the runtime from 1 minute to 5 hours. Default is 30 minutes.

Troubleshooting Schedule Problems

Programs do not run at the correct time

The date and time displayed on the iAqualink are wrong. Go to MENU > SET DATE/TIME and correct them. Also check if DST is enabled when it should not be, or vice versa.

Programs do not run at all

  1. Check that you are in the correct Program Group (A or B). Schedules programmed in Group A will not run if the system has switched to Group B.
  2. Check if a system lockout is enabled (MENU > LOCKOUTS PASSWORD). A locked system prevents changes but should not prevent programs from running. However, a locked device will not respond to manual control.
  3. Verify the All Off Time feature is not shutting everything off before your programs complete. Check MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > ALL OFF TIME.

Equipment turns on/off unexpectedly

  • Check all schedules for the device in question. A device may have multiple schedule entries.
  • Check freeze protection (MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > FREEZE PROTECT). Equipment assigned to freeze protection activates automatically when the air temperature drops below 38°F (default).
  • Check the Maintain Temp feature (MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > MAINTAIN TEMP), which runs the pump periodically to sample water temperature.
  • Check the Dusk Setup feature (MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > DUSK SETUP), which can turn devices on automatically at sunset.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will schedules continue to run if the internet goes down?

Yes. All schedules are stored in the AquaLink RS power center and execute locally. Internet connectivity is only needed for remote control through the app. Programmed schedules run independently.

How many schedules can I create per device?

On AquaLink RS systems, each device can have multiple on/off time entries with different run days. PDA systems support two on/off times per device per day.

What does Clear Memory do to my schedules?

Clear Memory (MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > CLEAR MEMORY) resets all stored values to factory defaults. This includes all schedules, auxiliary labels, freeze protection settings, remote settings, and thermostat settings. The time and date are not cleared. You will need to reprogram everything.
